Who we are
Second Chance Love Limited (“we”), Suite 3400, Manulife Place, 10180 101 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta, operates secondchancelove.ca. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Our privacy contact is info@secondchancelove.ca.
What we collect
The information you give us: first name, email, year of birth, city, gender and who you’d like to meet, your answers about your life and values, your introduction, your photos and your verification selfie. We also keep your messages, interests, blocks and reports, and basic technical data (such as the date of your last visit). Payments are handled by Stripe; we never receive your card number.
How we use it
To create your profile, suggest compatible members, let you talk with your connections, verify identities, detect scams and keep the community safe, process your membership, answer your questions and send you service emails (for example, a password reset).
What other members see
Logged-in members can see your first name, age, city, introduction and answers. Your photos stay blurred until the interest is mutual, unless you choose otherwise. Your email, year of birth and selfie are never shown.
Message screening
To protect members from fraud, messages are automatically checked for common scam patterns, such as requests for money or gift cards. Flagged messages may be reviewed by our moderation team.
Sharing
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the platform (web hosting, email and Stripe for payments), under confidentiality obligations, or when required by law.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from My profile. Your profile, photos and messages are then permanently deleted. Records needed for legal, tax or safety reasons may be kept for the period the law requires.
Security
Passwords are encrypted, photos are served only to authorized members, and access to administration tools is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your information, and withdraw your consent, by writing to info@secondchancelove.ca. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and remember your language. We do not use advertising cookies.
